What causes fine lines & wrinkles?
Lines come in two main types. Expression lines, like frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet, are made by repeated muscle movement. Static lines stay visible even when your face is at rest, because the skin has lost collagen and elasticity.
Fine lines usually show first around the eyes and on the forehead. Over time, deeper folds can form around the nose and mouth, and fine lines can appear on the lips and neck. Most people have a mix, so a plan often combines more than one approach.

What causes it?
Natural aging
Collagen and elastin slowly decline, so skin creases more easily and holds lines longer.
Muscle movement
Years of frowning, squinting and smiling fold the skin in the same places.
Sun exposure
UV light breaks down collagen. It’s one of the biggest causes you can control.
Smoking
Smoking speeds up collagen loss and adds repeated lip movement.
Dryness
Dehydrated skin makes fine lines look more noticeable.
Three ways we can help
Soften expression lines by calming the muscles that cause them, with a neuromodulator.
Smooth deeper folds with hyaluronic-acid (HA) filler.
Improve fine lines and texture in the skin itself with microneedling or a peel.

Your typical plan
- ConsultationYour provider looks at your lines at rest and in motion, reviews your health history and gives you a written plan with the total price.
- Treatment visitNeuromodulators and fillers are usually done in one short visit. Skin treatments like microneedling are often a series of 3.
- Results buildNeuromodulators take about 2 weeks for full effect. Filler shows right away. Skin treatments improve gradually over a few months.
- MaintainNeuromodulator results usually fade in about 3–4 months, so many people book regular visits. Sun protection helps protect your results.
An honest note: Injectables and skin treatments can soften lines, but they won’t erase every wrinkle, and results vary from person to person. Very deep lines or heavy sun damage may improve only partly. If you notice a new, changing or non-healing spot on your skin, please see a dermatologist first.
Frequently asked
Still unsure? Call us and we’ll talk it through.
What’s the difference between Botox® and filler?
Botox® and other neuromodulators relax the muscles that cause expression lines, like frown lines and crow’s feet. Fillers add volume under a line or fold to smooth it. Many people use both for different areas.
Which neuromodulator is right for me?
We offer Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau® and Daxxify®. They work in a similar way, with small differences in how they’re made and how they spread. Your provider will help you choose based on your goals and history.
Will I look frozen?
The goal is a softer, rested look, not a face that can’t move. Your provider plans the dose and placement for your face. Doses can be adjusted at your next visit.
How long do results last?
Neuromodulator results usually last about 3–4 months. Hyaluronic-acid fillers often last 6–12 months or longer, depending on the product and area. Skin treatment results can last longer with good skincare and sun protection.
Can fine lines around the lips be treated?
Often, yes. Microneedling and PRP microneedling can improve fine lines and texture around the mouth over a series. Your provider will tell you which options suit that area for you.
Is there downtime?
Neuromodulators usually have minimal downtime. Fillers can cause swelling or bruising for a few days. Microneedling causes redness for 1–3 days, and The Perfect Derma™ Peel causes peeling for about a week.
Can I prevent new lines?
Daily sunscreen, not smoking and a good skincare routine all help slow down new lines. Some people start neuromodulators earlier to soften lines before they deepen. Your provider can talk through what makes sense at your age and skin type.
Who shouldn’t have these treatments?
Some treatments aren’t suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain nerve or muscle conditions, active skin infections or some medications. Your provider reviews your health history before recommending anything.
