What causes dull & dehydrated skin?
Dull skin looks flat, tired or uneven instead of bright. It often comes from a buildup of dead skin cells on the surface, which scatters light instead of reflecting it.
Dehydrated skin is short on water, not oil, so even oily skin can be dehydrated. It may feel tight, look rough or show fine lines more easily. Dry skin, by contrast, makes too little oil. Many people have a mix of both.

What causes it?
Sun and dry climate
UV exposure and desert air pull moisture from the skin and dull its surface.
Slower renewal
Skin sheds old cells more slowly with age, so dullness builds up.
Stress and sleep
Poor sleep and stress can leave skin looking tired.
Harsh products
Strong cleansers and over-exfoliating can strip the skin’s protective barrier.
Lifestyle
Smoking and alcohol can dehydrate skin and dull its color.
Three ways we can help
Clear away dull surface cells and infuse hydrating or brightening serums.
Support the skin’s own renewal with microneedling, PRP or a chemical peel.
Add relaxing light-based sessions alongside your facial treatments.

Your typical plan
- ConsultationYour provider checks whether your skin is dry, dehydrated or both, reviews your home routine and gives you a written plan with the total price.
- Treatment visitsMany people start with a DiamondGlow® facial. Microneedling, PRP or a peel series can be added for deeper renewal.
- Results buildFacials give a fresher look right away. Changes from microneedling and PRP build over several months, and results vary.
- MaintainRegular facials, a gentle hydrating routine and daily sunscreen help keep your glow.
An honest note: In-office treatments can refresh and hydrate the look of your skin, but daily habits matter just as much, including sunscreen, gentle cleansing and a good moisturizer. If your skin is very dry, itchy, cracked or red, or if dullness came on along with other changes in your health, see a dermatologist or your doctor to rule out a skin or medical condition.
Frequently asked
Still unsure? Call us and we’ll talk it through.
What’s the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
Dry skin makes too little oil. Dehydrated skin is short on water, and it can happen to any skin type, even oily skin. Your provider can help you tell which you have, since the care is a little different.
Which DiamondGlow® facial is right for dull skin?
Ultra Hydration is designed for dry or flaky skin. Brightening and Vitamin C are designed for dullness and tired, sun-exposed skin. Your provider can help you choose on the day of your visit.
Will I glow right after a facial?
Many people notice fresher, smoother-looking skin right after a DiamondGlow® facial. With microneedling or PRP, there is some redness at first and the change builds over several weeks to months. Results vary.
Does red light therapy help dull skin?
Red light is popular as a relaxing add-on, and research on its skin effects is still growing. We suggest it as a complement to facials and good home care, not a replacement.
Is there downtime?
DiamondGlow® and red light sessions have no downtime. Microneedling and PRP facials usually cause redness for 1–3 days. The Perfect Derma™ Peel causes about a week of peeling.
How can I keep my skin hydrated at home?
Use a gentle cleanser, apply moisturizer to slightly damp skin and wear sunscreen every day. In a dry climate, a humidifier at night can also help. Avoid over-exfoliating, which can weaken the skin’s barrier.
Who shouldn’t have these treatments?
Some treatments aren’t suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infections, certain medical conditions or some medications. Hyperbaric sessions also need a brief health screening first. Your provider reviews your health history before recommending anything.
